WE NEED YOUR HELP AND INPUT!
Your board of officers for the lodge and chapter try to provide activities that will keep you interested in the Moose and keep you coming back. It takes a lot of time and effort to schedule and man these events. We need your input for new events that will spur some interest as some of the things we have been doing are not being supported. Please feel free to contact any officer of the lodge or chapter with your ideas.
One change you will see is that there will be very few if any live bands scheduled in the upcoming year. We cannot continue to pay a band 4 or 5 hundred dollars and have less than 50 people show up to hear them.
I’m not sure why we have not had the success we had in the past on band nights but would be interested to hear your concerns and comments on this subject.
One new event that we are going to try in February is a “Cash Bash” I have attended a few of these at the Lewistown Moose. They can do them on a much bigger scale than we are able to because of the size of their facility. The concept involves selling tickets in advance and the night of the cash bash pre-determined amounts of cash are given away every 5 minutes for 2 hours. Watch for details in the next newsletter.
We will not be having our normal New Year’s Eve party this year, over the last few years we have continually lost money on it. Instead we are going to try having a party in the bowling alleys to see how that goes. The details have not all been worked out yet but watch for flyers in the lodge in the near future.
The weekend of September 21st and 22nd we tore apart the kitchen here at the moose and spent long hours cleaning and organizing it.
I would like to thank the following people for their efforts in this endeavor: George, Larry and Judy McCormick, Dave Bressler, Ray and Sharon Mausteller and Carol Swartz. It looks like a brand new kitchen.
I would also like to wish everyone a safe and prosperous holiday season. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
