Over the past year, you have supported our 2nd and 4th Saturday all-u-can eat breakfast buffets – THANK YOU! Your enjoyment of a great breakfast at an incredibly low price provided contributions to Moosehaven, Camp Ross at Mooseheart and the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA.
You deserve a round of applause for enjoying our Friday fish fries and many of our Friday and Saturday dinners. Your support funded numerous Moose and community activities. So, take a bow for funding the purchase of jackets for lodge 1133’s baseball team (winners of the 2010 Senior League title), contributions to the fish derby, the purchase of candy, oranges and other goodies for the lodge/chapter children’s Christmas party, and donations to Safe Surfing and Special Olympics.
With your continued support and enjoyment of the twice a month breakfasts and the Friday and Saturday dinners sponsored by your Ritual Committee, our support of Moose and community activities will continue and increase.

The lodge and chapter were able to put smiles on the faces of our sunshine kids thanks to your support of our monthly Wednesday night dinners.
The committees were able to provide items from the wish lists of both Arranda and Dominik for Christmas.
A special thank you to all of our members who supplied gifts from our gift tree, your generosity is truly appreciated.
We will be restarting our sunshine dinners on Wednesday, January 18th with a turkey dinner with stuffing and potatoes. Wednesday, February 15th will feature Gerald’s world famous ham pot pie.
Dominik has a birthday coming soon and we are hoping to supply Arranda with a special graduation gift in May. So, your support of our dinners will help us take care of our special sunshine kids.

Bowling
The first half of the season for our bowling leagues will be complete by the time you receive this newsletter, best of luck to all of our bowlers in the second half.
We had applied to the PA Moose Association to hold their bowling tournament here in Danville in 2013. We were asked at the district meeting in December if we could host it in 2012 and agreed to do so. We will be doing all of the bowling in the lodge and will need help from our bowlers each weekend that the tournament is going on. The tentative start date is the weekend of March 31, 2012 and it will run every weekend except for holidays probably into June. Watch for the applications to come out in early January. This tournament is open to men and women.
If anyone wants to schedule a bowling party, please call Marty at 275-3490 Monday through Thursday evenings.
We will be bowling sweepies on Saturday, January 21st at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a 40-frame game on Saturday, February 11th at 6:00 p.m. You do not have to be a great bowler to have fun doing these games so why not come in and join the fun.

Golf
Our 13th annual Moose golf tournament will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012. Half of the proceeds this year will be dedicated to helping children’s organizations in the community, the other half will be used to help fund our lodges 100th anniversary celebration in July of 2013. Applications will be available in January.
We also applied for the PA Moose Association golf tournament in 2012 and have been accepted. The date of this tournament and details has not been worked out yet. It will probably be held in late July or August watch for more information in upcoming newsletters.
We will also hold our 2nd annual Moose Charities tournament in September but not on a Penn State home weekend.

Cinch
We will be starting our cinch tournaments again. They will be held Friday, January 13th and Friday, February 10th both starting at 6:00 p.m. There are also dinners both of these nights so come early and eat and join us for a fun night of cards. I hope our friends from the Catawissa area will join us, especially Finnie Pollock because I really enjoy beating her.

Super Bowl Party
Super Bowl Sunday, February 5th starting at 5:00 p.m. we invite all of our members to join us to watch the game and new commercials. Everyone who joins us is requested to bring a covered dish for all to snack on. There is always plenty of good food. If you don’t want to bring anything you can still come and enjoy the fun for a $5.00 donation to the Mooseheart/Moosehaven Endowment Fund.

Any member desiring to run for an elective office (other than administrator) in the lodge shall submit his name to the nominating committee at least one week prior to the date the committee is required to present its report to the lodge.
If you are interested in running for an office you must submit your intent to the nominating committee by March 12, 2012. The nominating committee will present its report to the Lodge on Monday March 19, 2012 and elections will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012. Installation of officers will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012.
